New Textile Market, Ring Road, Surat

New Textile Market stands at the heart of Surat's Ring Road textile cluster, established around 1972, and is one of the city's largest textile trade centres, housing around 3,000 shops and processing outlets (figure from industry listings, to be verified). Lower floors serve wholesale and small-lot trade while upper floors hold cutting, folding units and godowns, making it a key hub for synthetic fabrics and sarees in India.

Surat is India's polyester textile capital, and along Ring Road several covered textile markets such as New Textile Market and Silk City sell sarees, suit fabrics and printed cloth, with exporters buying lots on the spot. For Chinese suppliers of fabrics, man-made fibres, textile machinery and trimmings, the cluster offers direct contact with wholesalers and garment-factory buyers, many of whom also handle export orders to the Middle East and Africa.
