The Tabriz Historic Bazaar Complex is one of the largest covered bazaars in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage site inscribed in 2010. A Silk Road trading hub for centuries, its vaulted corridors and caravanserais still host active wholesale trade in carpets, textiles, spices, dried goods and traditional handicrafts, serving the trade circuits of northwest Iran and the Caucasus.
Tabriz is the commercial gateway of northwest Iran, close to the Turkish and Caucasus borders, with deep traditions in carpet and textile wholesale; its caravanserais still store goods and host out-of-town merchants on a daily basis. For Chinese exporters of carpets, home textiles, fabrics and everyday consumer goods, it is a historic specialist market for reaching northwest Iran and surrounding re-export trade corridors.
