The Mina Market district sits beside Zayed Port in the historic Mina Zayed trading area and is Abu Dhabi's most important food distribution center. It comprises separate vegetable, fruit, fish and dates markets alongside the Iranian Souq and dedicated wholesale trading zones. For decades it has supplied households and catering businesses across the emirate, with wholesalers doing their main business in the early-morning hours.
Its portside location gets fresh produce and imported dry goods to stalls fast, and restaurant, hotel and food-trader buyers dominate the trade. The Iranian Souq wholesales Persian carpets, pottery, spices, nuts and household kitchenware. For Chinese food, home-goods and tableware exporters, this is a traditional wholesale entry point to Abu Dhabi's distribution network. The wider port area is being redeveloped, while existing shops and markets remain open to the public throughout the works.
