Star or delta must match each element's rated voltage to the available line voltage: a 230 V element on 400 V three-phase runs in star so each element sees the phase voltage, while a 400 V element is wired in delta, and the same resistance bank delivers three times the power in delta. Before deciding, confirm sheath material, diameter, watt density and protection class, then check terminal box space, lead cross-section and terminal temperature rise. For multiple banks, verify phase balance, neutral current and phase-failure protection, and note whether the star point may float or must be tied to neutral. Validate the choice through measured current, temperature rise and control accuracy under real load, and ask the supplier for wiring diagrams and test data.
