Feira da Madrugada (the dawn fair) started as an open-air early-morning clothing market in downtown São Paulo, moved indoors to Brás in 2006 and relocated in 2018 to a purpose-built complex locally known as the Amarelão. The operator bills it as the largest popular shopping and wholesale centre in Latin America, with around 5,400 shops and boxes (operator's figure, scale to be verified), parking for hundreds of buses and cars, and daily traffic of more than 15,000 buyers. It opens before dawn so that resellers from all over Brazil can stock up on apparel before normal retail hours.
Its core business is women's, children's and fast-fashion garments sold wholesale at dawn to independent resellers. The surrounding Brás district itself is São Paulo's garment-manufacturing belt, with hundreds of confecções (small factories) and showrooms. This makes the fair a practical meeting point for Chinese textile, fabric, trim and knitwear suppliers targeting the São Paulo apparel cluster. Business visitors should check wholesale hours, bring samples and expect minimum orders per style.
