Mercamadrid

Mercamadrid is located in Villaverde, southern Madrid, and began large-scale operations in 1982. Covering about 1.8 million square meters, it is one of Europe's largest fresh-food wholesale parks, with fruit and vegetable, seafood, meat and logistics service zones. The seafood section is often described as one of the largest in the world. Owned jointly by the Madrid city council and Mercasa, it supplies much of central Spain.

The center wholesales fruit, vegetables, seafood, meat and frozen foods around the clock. For Chinese exporters of seafood, fruit and processed food, it is a first-tier platform for entering Spanish and southern European food-service and retail channels. The park handles both domestic and imported products at large scale, and many Chinese food suppliers use importers based here as a hub for the whole Iberian market.
