Why does film thickness matter when selecting a vertical packaging machine?
Film thickness affects film feeding resistance, forming performance, sealing temperature, and sealing time, which in turn influence feeding and sealing stability. Different laminated films, PE films, or paper-plastic materials can behave differently even at similar thicknesses. When sourcing, do not provide only the film thickness. Also provide the film structure, width, and heat-seal layer, and ask the supplier to test feeding, forming, and sealing with the actual material. The acceptance criteria should also define seal strength, appearance, and stability during continuous operation.
