How should upstream and downstream equipment be matched to prevent line blockage?
• Measure the wrapper cycle time (packs/min); upstream and downstream capacity must exceed it by 10%-15%.
• Use a buffer hopper or accumulation conveyor upstream, sized for 3-5 minutes of wrapper consumption.
• Downstream heat-seal and case packer speed must be ≥ wrapper speed, else add a diverter or buffer conveyor.
• Install photoelectric sensors to detect jams, linked to VFDs for auto speed adjustment or stop alarm.
• At FAT, run full-speed continuous test; acceptable blockage is ≤1 per 8 hours.
