How should terminal design be specified for commercial heating elements?

Size terminals by actual operating current rather than nameplate power alone. Confirm stud size, terminal material, current capacity, temperature rating and tightening torque according to the required current margin and available wiring space. Undersized terminals or links raise contact resistance and can overheat and burn the stud, so check heat dissipation in the high-temperature terminal box and the temperature rating of insulation parts. During installation, tighten to the supplier's specified torque and secure against loosening, avoiding thread damage from over-tightening or arcing from loose joints. At acceptance, measure terminal temperature rise and tightening torque, and cross-check sheath diameter, surface load and protection rating against real machine conditions.
