For commercial air-heating elements, specify airflow from the actual operating condition, not a catalog rating. First confirm inlet temperature, target outlet temperature, volumetric flow and face velocity, then calculate the required power and sheath watt density and match tube diameter, material and protection rating. Low airflow makes sheath temperature rise quickly, so interlock the heater to cut off automatically if the fan stalls or airflow falls short. Also verify mounting, wiring space and sensor location, and at acceptance measure airflow and surface temperature; if readings drift from design, resize or adjust rather than reuse the original part.
