To evaluate service life of commercial heating elements, first map the real duty: water hardness and scaling rate, watt density in W/cm2, daily on-off cycling, dry-fire or low-water risk, and whether the medium is water, oil or a chemical bath. Then ask the supplier for test conditions, including test power, tube diameter and length, sheath material, insulation fill and IP rating, and compare them with site voltage swings, flow and control method. During installation check immersion depth, terminal sealing and avoidance of local overheating. Accept on cold insulation resistance, leakage current, thermal response time, surface temperature spread and mounting fit, and log each replacement cause with cumulative running hours; a rated figure alone proves little.
