How should OEM specification control be specified for commercial heating elements?

When locking OEM specifications for commercial heating elements, start from the actual duty of the equipment rather than the catalogue rating. Confirm operating voltage, rated wattage, sheath diameter, heated and cold lengths, bend angle and routing, flange standard and terminal type, then check that surface load stays within the medium's limit and that sheath material, insulation, ingress protection and control interface match. Mounting method, wiring space and medium flow direction should also be agreed. Locking only overall length and wattage often causes batch drift in resistance, heat distribution and fit, so a controlled drawing must state dimensional tolerances, the heated-to-cold transition, dielectric and insulation test conditions and acceptance limits. Approve a first article with a retained sample number before mass production, and require the supplier to re-approve any later change.
