Does a meat grinder need a lifting system?

Whether a lifter pays off comes down to three numbers: loaded bin weight, feed-hopper height, and how often operators lift per shift. A shop grinding a few dozen kilos a day with 20 kg bins is usually better off dumping by hand, since a lifter only adds cleaning and breakdown points. A central kitchen running 100 kg bins into a waist- or shoulder-high hopper, or feeding a grinder nonstop, should specify one. Check rated capacity, dump height and chute alignment against the hopper, then time the full lift-tilt-grind-return cycle. For sign-off, run a full bin for an hour and watch for spillage, jams or idle waiting before locking the final setup.
