How should turntable positioning accuracy be evaluated when buying a rotating clay-pot cooker?

Start by locking the relative position of each pot base centre to its burner and confirming the pick-up path stays clear, since these two set the real accuracy limit. Run a dozen consecutive start-stops and log the stop deviation at the same station; if it grows as the turntable warms up, the indexing mechanism or brake is suspect. Drift matters twice over: it pushes the pot off the flame ring and can scrape the rim during removal, so judge those risks separately. Re-test during peak service, then put the deviation figure on your daily check sheet and adjust the index plate or gearbox once it is exceeded.
