What problems appear when a slicer blade becomes dull?
Once a slicer blade dulls, cuts lose their gloss and turn ragged, while soft or fatty products smear, drag and stick; slice thickness starts drifting and motor current plus vibration climb, forcing lower throughput. When specifying, ask how the blade is sharpened, its edge angle, and whether spare blades match the original hub—material alone tells little. Track tonnage between sharpenings to establish realistic blade life. Replace as soon as a continuous bright line appears under magnification or thickness tolerance is exceeded, and during acceptance check blade concentricity alongside product core temperature.
