How should slicer motor power be selected for different products?

Start with blade diameter and spindle speed, then size the main drive by cutting torque for the hardest product and target slice thickness. Frozen blocks or bone-in cuts demand far more than cooked meats sliced thin, so a nominal kW rating alone proves little. If the feed mechanism has its own motor, verify that drive separately. Before ordering, obtain rated current, torque and throughput data, and run your toughest product continuously, logging slice uniformity and feed stability. Attach those proven conditions to the purchase order so future changeovers are checked against a fixed benchmark.
